“Relations and affairs outside the heteronormative family structure are not free from violence and abuse. We live together in a hierarchical culture where supremacy, competition, and fear are regarded as the norm. This hierarchical culture makes it more difficult to recognize, accept and solve the problems of emotional violence within relationships. In such an imperfect world, it is not always possible to have relationships within which we would not harm anyone or be harmed. But we are capable of recognizing and demanding our needs and relationships, which would make us feel good. We hope we are going to find something making us feel good…”
